Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By accessing or using playcat.xyz (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. About the Site
The Site is operated by PlayCat (“we”, “us”). It provides educational content on cat behavioural enrichment, animal welfare, and related topics, plus comments and a contact form. The Site is offered free of charge and contains advertising.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 14 years old (Korea), 13 years old (United States), or the equivalent age of digital consent in your jurisdiction. Minors below those ages must have verifiable parental consent to use comments or contact features.
4. Permitted Use
You may read, browse, and share links to our content for non-commercial personal use. You may also leave comments and submit contact-form messages subject to Section 5.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: a) Post defamatory, harassing, obscene, or unlawful content b) Infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or publicity right c) Spam, post unsolicited advertising, or engage in multi-level marketing d) Disrupt the Site, attempt to bypass security, or send malware e) Scrape, mirror, or otherwise mass-extract content except as expressly permitted in Section 8 f) Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation
6. User Content
You retain ownership of comments and contact submissions you post. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content on the Site for the duration of your post. We may remove user content at our discretion for any violation of these Terms or applicable law.
7. Intellectual Property
All content created by PlayCat (text, illustrations, photographs, videos) is owned by PlayCat or its licensors and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, translate, or create derivative works without prior written permission, except (i) short quotations with attribution for criticism, news, or research and (ii) personal non-commercial use.
8. AI and Automated Access
The following are expressly prohibited without our written consent: a) Using the Site or its content for training, fine-tuning, or evaluating generative AI models b) Bulk scraping, mirroring, or systematic extraction c) Removing attribution or republishing AI-rewritten versions of our content
Our /robots.txt and /llms.txt declare automated-access policies. Compliance with those files is a condition of access. Standard search-engine indexing and limited academic citation are not restricted by this Section.
9. Advertising
The Site displays third-party advertisements (including Google AdSense). We do not endorse advertised products or services. Disputes about advertised goods or services are between you and the advertiser.
10. External Links
The Site may link to playcat.kr and other third-party sites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those sites.
11. Disclaimer
Content on the Site is provided for informational purposes only and is not veterinary, legal, or professional advice. Consult a licensed veterinarian for health and behavioural concerns about animals.
THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlayCat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or relating to your use of the Site. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed KRW 100,000 or its equivalent.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PlayCat from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your user content.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason, including for breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) shall survive.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes shall be brought before the court with jurisdiction over the operator’s seat as the court of first instance, except where consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction grant you a non-waivable right to your local courts.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms. Changes take effect 7 days after posting (30 days for material changes adverse to users). Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance.
