PlayCat (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates playcat.xyz (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights available to you, including residents of the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions.

1.1 Automatically Collected (every visitor)

  • IP address, cookies, device identifiers (advertising IDs and equivalents)
  • Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, language preference
  • Referrer URL, pages viewed, time on page, clickstream
  • Approximate location derived from IP

  • Comments: nickname, email address, comment content, IP address, timestamp, user agent
  • Contact form submissions: name, email address, message content, IP address

1.3 Sources of Collection

  • Automatic logging when you visit the Site
  • Direct input via comments and contact form
  • Cookies and similar technologies (pixels, local storage)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Operating the Site and delivering content
  • Analyzing traffic to improve our content
  • Serving advertisements via Google AdSense, including personalized advertising
  • Moderating comments and preventing abuse
  • Responding to and recording inquiries
  • Complying with legal obligations

4. Retention

  • Server access logs: up to 3 months (Korean Communications Privacy Act baseline)
  • Google Analytics 4 data: 14 months by default
  • Comments: while the post exists, deleted on request
  • Contact form data: 12 months after resolution
  • Longer retention where required by law

5. Sharing and Processors

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We share data with the following processors and recipients:

Google LLC (United States)

  • Purpose: analytics (Google Analytics 4), advertising (AdSense), tag management (GTM)
  • Data: IP, cookies, advertising IDs, behavioural logs, device info
  • Transfer mechanism: EU Standard Contractual Clauses + supplementary measures; Data Privacy Framework where applicable

NAVER Cloud Corp. (Republic of Korea)

  • Purpose: website traffic analytics (wcs)
  • Data: IP, cookies, page views

Hosting provider (location depends on data centre)

  • Purpose: web hosting, server operations
  • Data: full access logs

Law enforcement and regulators: only where legally compelled.

6. International Data Transfers

Personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions outside the EEA/UK/Korea. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified, and supplementary measures such as encryption in transit.

7. Cookies and Behavioural Advertising

We use cookies for:

  • Essential operation (none currently set for login as the Site has no account system)
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4, Naver wcs, WP Statistics)
  • Advertising (Google AdSense personalized ads)

You can:

  • Decline non-essential cookies on the consent banner at first visit
  • Opt out via Google Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com/
  • Opt out via YourAdChoices: https://optout.aboutads.info/
  • Use browser settings to block or delete cookies

Declining cookies does not prevent access to content.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  • Access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection (EEA/UK GDPR Art. 15-22)
  • Right to know, delete, correct, opt out of “sale” or “sharing”, and limit use of sensitive PI (California CCPA/CPRA)
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8.1 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

  • Categories of PI collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (IP, cookies), internet activity, geolocation (approximate), inferences for advertising
  • Categories “sold” or “shared” for cross-context behavioural advertising: identifiers, internet activity (via Google AdSense)
  • You may opt out of “sale” or “sharing” by clicking “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the footer, or by enabling the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honour as a valid opt-out
  • We do not knowingly sell or share PI of consumers under 16 without affirmative consent

9. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 14 (Korea) or under 16 (EU) or under 13 (US, COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

10. Security

  • HTTPS encryption in transit
  • Access controls and minimum-privilege administration
  • Logging and monitoring
  • Periodic security review

No system is perfectly secure. You use the Site at your own risk.

11. Updates

We may amend this Policy. We will post the revised version on the Site and update the “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be announced at least 7 days (Korea) or 30 days (EEA) before they take effect.
